CESCOM provides a useful calendar of scheduled maintenance items, both by date and by flight hours. However, it does not cover regular periodic maintenance that could be performed by the pilot, or in some cases, a local mechanic. Here are some suggestions for periodic maintenance not explicitly mentioned by Cessna.
Weekly
Monthly
- Customers of PowerAdvantage or PowerAdvantage+ must submit their monthly Engine Condition Trend Monitoring (ECTM) information. As of March 2010, this via CAMP, not the previous CessnaDAC address.
- Submit monthly CESCOM report
- Deep pre-flight, including all the items not on the regular checklist, such as handheld mic, cabin lights, starter disengage button, etc.
- Prepare CESCOM-10 report or equivalent to plan scheduled maintenance for the following month.
Quarterly
- Battery capacity check. This is part of CESCOM as Inspection 24.
Yearly
- Borescope inspection (obviously must be performed by suitably trained mechanic, not pilot).
- Compressor wash, or more frequently as required. This is a full detergent wash, not the regular P&WC compressor rinses that use only water.
